Purpose Stevens Institute of Technology is committed to protecting the safety, health, and well-being of all members of our community, including students, faculty, and staff. As a residential community with a significant number of individuals under the age of 21 residing on our campus, we have a particularly strong commitment to ensuring that our community is free of illegal drugs and the possession and consumption of alcohol. We recognize that alcohol abuse and the illegal use of drugs pose a significant threat to our institutional mission. We have established a drug-free workplace program that balances our respect for individuals with the need to maintain a drug-free environment on campus. The student and employee policies are available on the University’s website , in the Student Handbook, and through the Stevens Policy Library. In addition, the University’s drug and alcohol policies are published in the University’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report which is distributed to the community each year. 2. Alcohol and Other Drug Policies for Students The Student Code of Conduct, outlined in the Stevens Student Handbook, includes a policy for students regarding alcohol and other drugs. All students are responsible for complying with the policies within the Student Code of Conduct however, specific student populations, such as students living in Stevens housing, student-athletes, members of student organizations, and members of fraternities and sororities, are subject to more restrictive policies on the use of alcohol and other drugs.
