16 | STEVENS ANNUAL SECURITY AND FIRE SAFETY REPORT All state and federal statutes as well as local ordinances regarding the possession of firearms and weapons, including air guns, and imitation firearms (both legal and illegal) apply on Stevens’ campus. Subject to limited exceptions made only by the Chief of Police or designee, weapons are prohibited on University property. Such items will be confiscated by the Stevens Campus Police Department and individuals involved will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination or expulsion and may be subject to criminal penalties. Any person who possesses the legal authority to carry a concealed weapon within the State of New Jersey must report to the Chief of Campus Police immediately upon arrival to campus to request permission to carry a firearm on campus. The Stevens Policy on Weapons is available online. On August 14, 2020, Stevens implemented an updated Title IX Policy, found here, consistent with the University’s obligations under the Title IX Regulations issued by the Department of Education in May of 2020. Stevens’ Title IX Policy is applicable to all students, faculty, and staff. The Title IX Policy sets forth various rules and procedures, as well as the steps Stevens must take to respond to allegations of Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Stalking and Retaliation. Information about confidential reporting and resources, and a description of the resources, options and assistance that is available to students and employees who make a report under the Title IX Policy are also listed.
